WTCH Avid's Trial By Fire RTDs BCAT
Scorch is a wonderful teammate and partner. She, like her mom, can be sensitive to handler corrections, but has a better recovery (instant). She’s a clever girl and a natural problem solver- for me, as well as for herself as evidenced by her penchant for opening crates, gates, and doors. She’s a wonderful demo dog in the manners and puppy classes I teach and is a great guide for puppies during playtime. She is a natural in agility- seeming to understand lines, handling, and the big picture of the game more than any dog I’ve known. She’s also a natural with stock and has been forgiving of my novice mistakes. She naturally works off of her stock and is a very strong fetching dog.
In 2018, Scorch and Gambler combined to create optimistic, happy puppies with varying levels of natural settling ability ranging from Gam’s “off until on” style to Scorch’s prefers-to-do-things outlook. This was a litter I had hoped for since long before Scorch was conceived and they’ve been worth every moment of anticipation.
4Mile High Kickin Spahnie RS-E GS-O JS-O RN NF
Spahn is the right-hand man for his large animal veterinarian owner, Elaine. Here's what she has to say about him: Wow, almost a decade ago now... I had an opportunity to own the dog of my dreams. His sire was the legendary 45 Ranch Henry Aaron (Hank) owned by Allie Bryant 4 Mile Aussies. Hank had both ASCA National Championship/High combined top 10 wins in Stock as well as Agility and also several MVP placings in his time. Hank, his brother Twin Oaks Bull Tough were from one of the immortal Cee Hambo's last litters, sire was the legendary Bull of Twin Oaks and dam Windsongs Rip Rap . Two working dogs that exemplify the working aussie talent and character. Spahn's mom W Lazy J J2 Chipotle Chile (Crown Point Red Baron W Lazy J x Lor A Golden Zephyr) again exemplified the true tough working ranch dog. Spahn (named after the great left handed pitcher,Warren Spahn, who pitched with Hank Aaron in the 50's -my husband's idea as I was looking for a unique baseball name) is the most intelligent dog I have ever known. Hey they Milwaukee Braves with Henry Aaron and Warren Spahn beat the Yankees in 1957!!! That said he is strong, pushy and is your best friend or your most frustrating challenge. He has HUGE distance in agility and super fast course times. He looks for lines, has distance and speed to burn and tremendously athletic. He is talented in obedience and rally as well. Spahn is protective of me. He is super friendly to people and most other dogs. intact males not so much. On stock, Spahn is super sensitive to the stock and reads then adapts. He can hit heads or heels. He is by my side at the bull stud and has no problem heeling a 2700 lb bull into the chute or pitching onto a head to save me. He loves baby ducks and lambs but has zero tolerance for aggressive stock. I have never triaed him much but if there was an award for the number of times this dog has saved me he would be a super star.
